Hello 170V-forum As stated I am a newbie in this forum, and I am also a newbie regarding the handling of a 170. I newly bought a 170Sb which is in a fair technical condition and in a good condition regarding corrosion, paint and outer chrome parts. There still are things to be done in the years to come. The gearbox is a little difficult to slide into 1. gear and the sync from 3. to 2. could be better. I can live with that for now! The coming winter I will concentrate on the interior and especially the dashboard…it´s not a beautiful sight and some of the wiring needs care. I hope the forum will help me answering the following questions: I can see that dashboard is held by 5 screws. 2 in the sides and 3 in the top. The top middle can be taken by removing the ashtray….but what about the other two? The space between the dashboard top wood molding and windscreen I too narrow for a wrench. What to do? Do I really have to remove the windscreen? Will there be more screws than the 5 mentioned? I will have to remove the buttons on the various contacts/choker on the dashboard. How to remove the button on the main light switch? Best regards Claus_T
